Full Event DetailsWe set off from Cowden station, going east towards the 16th century Bassetts Farm and Bassetts Mill. From there we walk south to link up with the Sussex border path. Walking west we should arrive at the Fountain Pub (01342 850528) in Cowden village for an early lunch at approx. 12 noon. The pub is quite small, ergo it is advisable to bring some rations in case it is overwhelmed. After luncheon we carry on along the border path straddling Kent and East Sussex and then head north-east through Reynolds Wood towards Dormansland, Surrey and home.

Full Event DetailsLargely following the South Downs Way from Kingston, through Rodmell and Southease, then descending to Glynde, where there is a pub for a teatime stop and a dropout point, finally over Mount Caburn to Lewes. Please bring a picnic lunch (but there is a pub rather early in the walk in case of bad weather).

Full Event DetailsThe morning route is via the Sussex Border Path to Frant where are two pubs and a village Green. After lunch the walk continues via Eridge Old Park and Eridge Rocks to Groombridge where we will join the Spa Valley Railway to Tunbridge Wells. A buffet/bar will be available on the train and there is the option of staying on board for the early evening real ale train, (with fish and Chip supper if pre-booked), see spavalleyrailway.co.uk for details. Afterwards it is a short walk through the Pantiles and along the High Street to Tunbridge Wells main line station.

Full Event DetailsAlthough some of the terrain is strenuous, the pace will be leisurely. We follow the coast all the way. Our first stop will the Zetland Arms for an early pub lunch or picnic by the sea, and also a swim. Another stop in the afternoon at St Margaret's Bay for tea at the Noel Coward Cafe, or a drink in the pub on the beach. Over the White Cliffs and on into Dover for afternoon tea/drinks. Expect a late return to London.

Time permitting: drink stop after 10 miles at Icklesham; drink or tea stop after 12 miles at Winchelsea with chance to see Spike Milligan's grave (with epitaph "I told you I was unwell"). Fish and chips (recommended) or drink in Rye. Possible drop-out points for those willing to catch buses back to Rye or Hastings.
